More Spotty Hen At Bottom Of The Page
Have I purchased 2 isabrown hens at point of lay?
One appears to have spotty warty lumps on its comb. it seems happy enough and is laying an egg a day. The other is a little smaller and seems healthy enough. She laid a couple of small eggs the first week and has now stopped. I don't know much about chickens. Have I been sold a couple of pups!
I don't know what isabrown hens are. Never heard of them.
The spotty warty lumps are probably just the way it's comb is made.
The smaller hen sounds like a pullet ( young hen) that is just starting to lay. She will lay small eggs for a while. As she matures into a full layer her eggs should get larger & more regular.
