Should I get boy or girl rats?
Yes, I know that males are more laid back and girls are much more hyper and outgoing, but i just can't decide. I found a $140 cage, but the seller said that she would sell her 2 hooded female rats, a huge bag of bedding, a water bottle, a ceramic food dish, toys, and the cage all for $120, I have over $700 from my grandpas will, but what should i do. Please help me!

I'd say that's a pretty good deal. Female rats are harder to find in pet stores for some unknow reason to me. The rats are already used to the environment so it would be easier for them to get used to you and have their familer home at the same time.
Then again you have to think if you wanna get your own rats and train them to be how you want them to be. and you would be the only (mother) that they'll ever have.
I have two males and I absolutely love them. They are very playful and do the cutest things. Couldn't imagine they'd be any different if they were females
